The Paul Sacher Foundation (Paul Sacher Stiftung,hereinafter referred to as ‘the PSS’) takes the protection of your privacy very seriously and is therefore keen to comply with the strict legal provisions on data protection. We firmly believe that data protection begins with transparency. That is why we would like you to know at all times when we collect your personal data, what data we collect (i.e. name, address, contact details, IP address, etc.), how we use it, and also how you can restrict its use.
Data from visitors to our institution and our website is stored in order to provide our online services in a user-friendly manner and to measure the reach of our website (e.g. access statistics). This usually means contact details when visiting the PSS in person and usage data when visiting the website, e.g. the sub-pages visited and time of access, but may also include IP addresses and, if applicable, the status of consent to the storing of contact details.
Personal data is always processed in compliance with the information and data protection act applicable to the PSS, i.e. the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP). Registration via the contact form and sending of communications
When you contact us (for example, using the contact form on our website or by email), the data you enter (normally your contact details and the content of the enquiry/request) will be stored in the Foundation's internal address database for the purpose of processing your request and answering any follow-up questions that may arise. The same applies if you register to receive our annual bulletin. The PSS is committed to protecting your privacy and will use your personal information only within the PSS and to communicate with you. Unless otherwise agreed with you, your personal data will not be passed on to third parties, except where we are obliged to disclose it, e.g. due to a court or official order.
Period for which personal data is stored
We process and store your personal data for as long as it is necessary for the use of our services, i.e., for example, as long as you are on the mailing list for our bulletin, and beyond in accordance with the statutory retention and documentation obligations. As soon as your personal data is no longer required for these purposes, it will generally and wherever possible be deleted or anonymised. Technical data (e.g. logs, system logs) are subject to shorter retention periods.
Right to information; questions
You have the right to request information free of charge at any time about the personal data concerning you that is being stored. We reserve the right to provide this information electronically. You also have the right to object to the further future use of your personal data at any time. Withdrawal of consent

The changed or deleted information will not be retained by us. If you wish to submit a request for information or an objection, you must provide sufficient information to enable us to confirm your identity and provide valid proof that the information in question relates to you. Consent can be withdrawn by notifying office-pss@unibas.ch.
How we use cookies

We use the Universal Analytics version.
